Joshimath
Joshimath, also known as Jyotirmath is situated in Chamoli district of the state of Uttarakhand. It is well-known for being one of the four main cardinal pithas, which were built of Adi Shankara, the other being Dwarka, Puri, and Shringeri. And so, is one of the important pilgrim centers of India. This city is home to a number of temples and other religious sites which are visited by a large number of tourists, mainly of Hindu religion.

Spring (March through May)

How to reach Joshimath
Reach Joshimath By Air
Jolly Grant Airport lies at 270 km from Joshimath. If you prefer traveling by air, you can take a flight to this domestic airport located in the city of Dehradun. After arriving at the airport, you'll find plenty of cab or taxi services to take you to the holy town of Joshimath. Cab charges will be around Rs 3,000. The road journey will take you six hours to get to Joshimath.
Reach Joshimath By Rail (By Train)
Rishikesh, which is the closest railway station, is around 250 km from Joshimath. As you might know, Rishikesh is very well connected by rail route with all the popular tourist destinations of India. So, you can arrive at Rishikesh by train and cover the remaining distance by road (via cab).
