Dharamshala is the main tourist destination of Kangra valley in Himachal Pradesh. On the one side of Dharamshala, the Dhauladhar mountain ranges are the fertile valleys and Shivalik ranges on the other side. The British had established Dharamshala (Dharamshala) as a small tourist destination. Due to the establishment of its permanent residence here by the Dalai Lama and the headquarter of the exiled government of Tibet being established here, this tourist spot has emerged on the world tourism map. The city of Dharamshala can be divided into two parts. A lower hospice where Kotwali market is located. The second upper temple is known as Meklodganj which is located at an altitude of 1982 meters.
Mcleodganj Or Upper Dharamshala is also known as Little Lhasa, mainly because of the inhabitation of a large number of Tibetans here. Tourists from different corners of the world spend time strolling in the bustling Tibetan market or munching in lip-smacking meals. An iconic church just below the market area, St. John in the Wilderness is another highly visited area of Mcleodganj. The old graveyard indeed adds on to the picturesque panorama of the vicinity.
There are other spiritual shrines in Dharamshala like Bhagsunag Temple, Kunal Pathri, Tsechokling Gompa and Namgyal Monastery. Take a walk in the Tea Gardens for rejuvenation and freshness. Trekkers can make the most of their adventure by trekking to Triund, the jewel of Dharamshala. If you are looking for Yoga and meditation, finding a center for the same won’t be bothersome here.
