Garhmukteshwar is a religious city, which is situated near the Ganges. This city is considered a Hindu religious place and it is one of the historic places near Delhi. Garhmukteshwar History:
The name of Garhmukteshwar was derived from the great temple of Mukteshwar Mahadev, which is dedicated to Goddess Ganga. The devotees from all over the country come to see the statue of the white stone of the Ganga and the Brahma in this temple. Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple is the ancient Shiva temple of this city. This temple has an ancient Shivling that was built by the sage Parasurama. Nasush Kup is a well in which the water comes from the Ganges. King Nassush used to offer yajna here. Meerabai's sand is a tourist spot, situated right next to Mukteshwar Temple. The sand is spread all over the land of this place, according to folk literature, Meerabai used to regularly recite and use this place to live. There are many Sarai temples in Brijghat, which include Vedanta Temple, Hanuman Mandir, Amrit Complex, etc. The best time to visit Garhmukteswar is between October and March.
